PIXELSMEDIA Team’s Trip Away from Kolkata Cacophony
Utterly tired of the files, folders, computer and project!!!! We all were seeking relief from our monotonous routined existence. “What to do ?????”….. “Hm…. Lets arrange a weekend trip”, the idea came from Smita…….. “Yeahhh….Its long time we haven’t gone out together”, yelled Prithwishda ..and we all joined him….But where to go????? Suggestions came from here and there. And after a long analysis and evaluation, we decided to set out for Digha.
No sooner than the place was decided, we started chalking out our trip plan. We booked SONAR BANGLA for out accommodation and food, and reserved three Tata Sumos to have a comfortable road journey.
Our journey started from Esplanade on 9th January. A sunny day with pleasant weather added more delight to our beach journey. The stretch of journey was smooth and hassle-free. We stopped at “Sher-e Punjab” to have breakfast. A great welcome relief, we were almost dying out of hunger. With our stomachs filled with an array of lip-smacking dishes we moved on towards Digha.
Our long 5 hour journey ended when we entered the stately building of HOTEL SONAR BANGLA. Decked up with sofa, comfy bed and tea table, each room at the hotel was just another word for “Comfort”. Starting from the look to service, all the facilities at this hotel were commendable. Moreover, what impressed us the most is the ‘Can I help you’ attitude of the SONAR BANGLA staffs.
After a delicious lunch and short afternoon nap, we all went out to enjoy the place. We took four van rickshaws, they being the only means of transportation, to visit the enchanting beaches of New Digha. “Simply splendid!!!!”, someone muttered. The beauty of the rocky beach with golden spots of sand, the constantly advancing and receding waves enthralled all of us.
Smita was always crazy to pose as ever. “My snap will come good in this pose na??????”
We took scores of snaps, splashed water on each other, drank the enrapturing beauty of the seashore in the fading light of the dusk.
Next morning, we all went to the beach to enjoy the sunrise, while Poulami enjoyed her morning dreams till 8 o’clock. But gosh!! The sky was cloudy and we could not enjoy the sunrise. Later around 11 o’ clock, we went to the beach where we all posed for snaps. The sea was calm with low tide, perhaps to allow us enjoy our sea-bath to the fullest.
Our Shankerpur trip began at around 1 Pm. It took no more than 15 minutes to reach this picturesque sea resort. We had our bit of fun while enjoying the astonishing beauty of Shankerpur beach. With sweets and coffee cups in hand, we chatted there for long hours. Some of our friends entertained us with their eccentric talents. After some road-side shopping, we came back to HOTEL SONAR BANGLA at night.
Next day, we tripped to Talshari, the abode of Red crabs. It took nearly 30 minutes to reach this place. The beach at Talshari appreared like a long stretch of sand covered with red carpet from a distance. But as we advanced, we found that the beach is not what we thought. Its actually thousands of red crabs that embellished the yellow sands with their vermillion hue. It is here that Ashokeda showed us the tactics of holding a crab with hand. After enjoying the effervescing sea-waves and capturing the panoramic beach-view in our individual digicams, we set out for Udaypur.
The Udaypur beach was as beautiful as the ones in Digha, Talshari and Sankarpur. Each one of us enjoyed our seashore bike ride. While on bike, we felt like budding heroes, as if flying in air to save our lady-in-distress. What an awesome experience!!!!!!!! But oh!!! Our enjoyment at Digha lasted till evening, when we had to board on Tata Sumos to get back to this monotonous “City of Joy”.
